Nebula come atcha from the get-go with a heapin' helpin' of frazzled 70's
garage power, low-down and dirty stoner rock, and a large dose of punkness
just to keep it fresh. It reminds me of what Kyuss would sound like if they
listened to a lot of MC5, Johnny Thunders, and ZZ Top. There's lots of big
blues-box based riffs, tons of distortion, plenty of wild, out-of-control
guitar solos, and they even get really weird and spacey at times but they
always come back to the Almighty Riff.
There's really nothing groundbreaking
here, just good 'ol American Rock n' Roll, baby and there ain't a damn thing
wrong with that. Highlights include the rocking "Freedom", "Come Down", and
"So Low", the freaked out jam on "Fields of Psilocybin" and the all out riff
fest on the album closer "You Mean Nothing". If you want something that just
plain rocks and any of the above mentioned bands float your boat then I
highly recommend adding Nebula's To The Center to your CD collection as I'm
sure you won't be dissapointed.
